講演要旨 |
High-powered as well as clean and efficient combustion systems exhibit undesirable oscillations that result to catastrophic failure. The responsible mechanism is the coupling between combustion dynamics and system acoustics, manifested in a feedback that sustains an oscillating power source. We present recent advancements in analysis and simulations of combustion dynamics, and theory and experiments supporting the development of reduced-order model that can be used to design passive and active control methods for mitigation. Impact of the fluid dynamic and chemical processes on the onset and intensity of oscillations are captured, and their influence on other performance metrics is analyzed. Extensive effort to develop micro sensing, high bandwidth, high authority actuation, and time delay control algorithms has demonstrated success in several systems. We cover the essentials of how to modify a combustion process to avoid severe oscillations, and elements of control theory and application that balance complexity and performance. |
