講演要旨 |
There have been many driving forces to exploit potential benefits of micro-sized apparatus of fluidic systems relative to systems of
conventional size, including reduced consumption of samples and reagents, shorter analysis times, greater sensitivity, portability that
allows in situ and real-time analysis, and disposability. A unifying vision for the field has been the notion that, in the same way that
integrated circuits used miniaturized transistors to automate computation, nano/microfluidic chips can implement large scale automation of biological processes using nanoliter/picoliter volumes.
Recent advances in this area are resulting in exciting new biotechnology or medicine applications that may influence the course of Genomics and Proteomics technology. In this presentation, nano/microfluidic SYSTEMS for bio/medical applications will be presented with the examples of DNA isolation, gene amplification (PCR),
gene transformation, capillary electrophoresis, and enzymatic reactions on a chip. Furthermore, the first nano/microfluidic parallel
architecture will be described as well as robust mechanical fluidic handling methods for nanoliter or picoliter sample volumes. |
