Joint ETH-UT Exchange Program

This program aims to promote research activities and cultivate young researchers on the agreement with ETH Zurich and our 21st COE Program, "Mechanical Systems Innovation", which is granted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan.

The main concept of this exchange program is to expose UT and ETHZ students to each others working environment for initiating and maintaining research collaborations between researchers in the two Universities.

Visit to ETH from UT

Selected members of Research Assistants (Ph.D. Candidates) of our 21COE Program visit ETH Zurich for two month and conduct their self-planned research activities with a host professor in ETH Zurich. In this program, RAs are expected not only to expand their own specialized skills and acquire additional science and engineering knowledge, but also to be stimulated by the international research life with their colleagues with different Nationalities. A joint workshop with all visiting RAs and Ph.D. Candidates at ETH is held before they complete their two months stay. This visit is fully supported by our COE program.
This visit includes various precious international experiences for Ph.D. students such as;
-finding out the professors in the same research fields at ETH and contacting them.
-arranging the two months research plans beneficial both for you and host professors.
-conducting your research activities surrounded by foreign colleagues.
-survival life in foreign country.

Visit to UT from ETH

Distinguished Professors in ETH come to Japan and give a series of lectures to our Ph.D. students in the University of Tokyo. Foreign students also come to UT and spend some time for lectures, research and enjoying Japan.
